The role of education has always been particularly significant in economic and social development. In today's societies, knowledge is the key factor in wealth creation and growth, which is why they are often referred to as knowledge societies. Education serves as the gateway to acquiring knowledge. The sum of an individual's knowledge and skills essentially constitutes their human capital. Knowledge and skills are directly linked to technological advancements. The relationship between education and economic development is reciprocal. Distance education provides everyone with the opportunity to acquire knowledge. The purpose of the Master’s Program in the Economics of Education & Management of Educational Units, which is conducted entirely through distance learning, is to equip learners with the necessary knowledge to understand the economic and social dynamics within the field of education. Additionally, it prepares them to manage educational institutions, conduct research, design and evaluate educational programs and policies effectively.

  • The Master’s Program in "Economics of Education and Management of Educational Units" at the University of Piraeus is designed for educators of all specialties in secondary education as well as primary school teachers. The courses, which we attended exclusively through distance learning due to COVID-19, covered the core contemporary issues in education, providing in-depth, essential, and up-to-date knowledge on various topics related to the administration and financial management of educational institutions. Moreover, the highly qualified faculty consistently supported, encouraged, and nurtured the multiple talents and interests of the participants, fostering both personal and professional development. I consider the benefits gained from completing this program to be highly significant and I strongly recommend enrolling in it. Sophia S. Antoniadou
  • An exceptional Master's Program designed for professionals from all disciplines involved in the field of education. Beyond acquiring essential knowledge for understanding the reciprocal relationship between economic development and education, students also develop and refine leadership, communication, and administrative skills, as well as competencies in school environment management, teamwork, and problem-solving. Additionally, the program fosters sensitivity to intercultural education, which is increasingly crucial in today’s world. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, part of the program was conducted remotely. This was a new experience for all participants, as we had to adapt to these circumstances. Nevertheless, through this process, the professionalism of the faculty, students, and administrative staff was evident, ensuring that the objectives and purpose of the program were fully met.I would highly recommend this program without hesitation.
